Zecchetti: long-standing relationships and a revolutionary process

2012-10-20 | Cold-end

Zecchetti was founded in 1960 and has, over this period, been working with some of the most important national and international groups and companies in the glass sector. The leader in the packaging sector for the production of palletizers, depalletizers and conveying systems, presents one of these relationships – with Vetropack – which has several lines installed in its locations around the world, and has, more recently, installed Zecchetti machines for containers resulting from an ‘Innovative Tempering Process’.

Zecchetti is a leader in the packaging sector for the production of palletizers, depalletizers and conveying systems
Vetropack, one of Zecchetti’s ‘historical’ and faithful clients, occupies an important role thanks to several installations featuring palletizers, conveyors and other equipment successfully operating in various locations such as Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Ukraine.
Thanks to this good relationship, Zecchetti was chosen as the preferred supplier of packaging machines to handle stronger and lighter-weight glass containers that are the result of an ‘Innovative Tempering Process’.

The ‘Innovative Tempering Process’ is a revolutionary process, developed by Emhart Glass and commercialized under industrial production conditions in collaboration with Vetropack, allowing either a significant increase in resistance to breakage or a reduction in the weight of packaging glass.
“When tested by dropping onto a hard surface from a height of 1.5 metres, only very few filled bottles break, while conventional ones generally shatter,” says Vetropack. Zecchetti is obviously very proud of having been selected, together with other top class partners, for this project, which can be considered a milestone in glass container manufacturing.
The Zecchetti scope of supply is:
  • Automatic Sweep-off Depalletizer receiving full pallets of bottles and sending them to the ‘Innovative Tempering Process’ and then to the inspection line;
  • Automatic Rotary Column Palletizer ‘R’ PAL receiving the tempered/inspected bottles and p...
