AGC Glass has reportedly reopened its G1 float glass line in Church Hill, Tennessee. The plant will serve as a G1 line for the architectural and automotive markets, producing both clear and tinted float glass.
“The restarted production line marks another important step in our efforts to strengthen the company’s operations in North America,” says Mark Ishiko, president and CEO of AGC. “AGC is committed and fully intends to succeed here.”
The G1 line will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and its restarting has created an additional 100 jobs. The Greenland manufacturing plant will be AGC’s fourth float tank. The company’s other three locations include Greenland, Tenn. (two float lines), Richmond, Ky. (one float line) and Spring Hill, Kan. (one float line).
