Movetro is the brand name under which Mistrello Srl markets its line of products. The company specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of turnkey plants for storing and handling of glass sheets and packs of flat glass, both standard stock size or jumbo size.
Mistrello srl was established in 1993 in Ponso, in the Province of Padova, by Giorgio Mistrello, the present-day CEO. Over the years, the company has conquered a leading position in the sector thanks to its capacity to provide solutions that meet the requirements of each and every customer. The line of products spans from drawers to more complex systems such as shuttle storage systems or overhead cranes.
“Our range has grown over the years,” explains Giorgio Mistrello, “and nowadays we are known on the market for our flexibility, which means that we can solve any glass sheet handling situation in any glass-processing plant. We can offer floor-standing solutions such as shuttle systems, standard and special loading machines as well as overhead solutions thanks to our range of overhead cranes, which is composed of three different product families. We pride ourselves on our wide range and can boast over 50 plants, mostly installed in Italy. Indeed, while the main reference market of Mistrello srl has so far been domestic, the company has recently started to invest time and resources in order to set up a foreign sales department. Gianluca Brignone, Foreign Market Technical and Sales Manager, who joined the Group in January goes on to explain how Mistrello’s export policy previously only consisted in managing local contacts, usually made through trade exhibitions.
“At present our turnover is partly generated from direct sales to final customers, glass-processing plants of various sizes, and partly from collaboration with leading groups in the world of glass that integrate their products with ours in order to offer turnkey packages. The investments our company is now making aim, above all, at providing an increasingly faster and more efficient service and support to our existing customers and collaborators, but also at implementing a commercial network that can guarantee us a significant local presence both in terms of sales and assistance in territories outside Italy.”
Movetro products are suitable for glass-processing plants of any dimension, from the smallest to the largest ones.
“We operate,” Giorgio Mistrello explains, “beyond mere price considerations, and we prefer to follow a logic based on quality, care and attention to each and every plant. This policy has already proved successful both with end users and leading groups that decide to complete their orders by offering our products and, of course, cannot take risks when it comes to the quality of the elements that make up their offer.”
Optimized plant output
Movetro offers a range of products that goes from semi-automatic and automatic drawers for all glass sheet sizes, to more complex systems such as the Movetro TMA shuttle system or the overhead loaders of the CAM family.
TMA systems are automatic plants for handling and storing packs of Jumbo or standard glass sheets, and are optimized to be fitted as part of cutting lines. The Movetro TMA concept makes it possible to send a frame carrying up to 15 tons of glass sheets to production, which is very functional, especially for companies that operate continuous workflows for all dimensions and types of glass.
Also in the case of TMA shuttle systems, the flexibility of Movetro products enables plant lay-outs that bring production change times to zero, making this solution highly flexible and advantageous for all users, including those that need versatility. As mentioned previously, Movetro’s product range also includes CAM overhead loaders, automatic systems for the handling of single glass sheets, as well as packs of Jumbo or Standard size. CAM loaders come in three different types, each with its own set of functions and layout configurations.
Movetro’s large and flexible range of machines enables the company to design the correct solution to meet the needs of its customers, from the simple loading solution to feed cutting lines to the automatic management of waste material, through to solutions without downtimes due to loading operations in the storage area.
“Quality is safety, this is our motto and our credo too,” Giorgio Mistrello says, “Our machines are a guarantee of safety for operators; furthermore, the quality of the materials used and the ability with which our plants have been designed are the added benefits of the Movetro production.”
“To this day, in counter tendency of the current economic crisis, our order portfolio has doubled since 2011, as a confirmation of just how much the market appreciates our machines. Our turnover has increased considerably since 2008, mostly due to word-of-mouth among our customers, which, in itself, is a success for us, but also, and above all, a great reason for pride.”
“Since 2007, alongside growth, we have also implemented a strategy plan, which has led us to take on well-established technicians in our R&D office, to set up an in-house software division and the intention of setting up a foreign sales and assistance network. We have also decided to reorganize our entire production flow in order to meet the continuous and growing request for our products. The launch of our software division, a work group strongly wanted by Giorgio Mistrello, has enabled Mistrello srl to manage and create functional programmes for our plants, in compliance with the same high standards that are applied to each activity of our company. This also allows us to provide real time assistance and to manage any interfacing required, whether for combinations with newly supplied or already existing machinery.”
High-tech handling
Mistrello operates in view of offering Movetro products to a market niche that focuses on quality, that appreciates the possibility to have high-level service and that wants to work safely in the glass-processing industry.
What makes the difference here is the great care to details that the company has succeeded in enthusing to all its collaborators through a long and demanding selection, followed by training. “Which I see to personally,” Giorgio Mistrello points out, “working with a team that strives to optimize every detail of the product in close relation with the needs of our customers. Of course this kind of strategy requires a lot of energy, but it has enabled our customers to perceive the different value of our products compared with those of our competitors. Teamwork and group spirit are the true founding elements of Mistrello’s credibility and ability to be the ideal supplier for the present and for the future, given the right balance between the employees average age and their years of experience in the glass sector.”
The Mistrello family has confirmed its intention to give continuity to the Movetro Project with the son of Giorgio Mistrello, Davide, who has been working in the company since 2000.
“To this day, thanks to these resources we can offer both standard and customized products to match customers’ specific requirements. We continue to invest in R&D and to build new machines and we have started to equip our plants with integration software that can be adapted to the different management programmes used in glass-processing plants. Our objective is to provide new resources to manage all aspects that are needed in order to monitor production, warehouse stock and order progress.
Attention to customers’ requirements – concludes Giorgio Mistrello – and the subsequent search for tailor-made solutions can run high costs, but they make us grow and allow us to offer products and services that are always on the cutting edge of the market.”
“This year we will participate,” Gianluca Brignone continues, “in Glass South America in San Paulo, Brazil and in glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany. We are therefore inviting anyone interested in getting more information about our products or in representing Movetro brand name in their own countries, to come and visit us at our stand or write to us directly.”
